چکیده

For the topological diversity, in-plane hexagonal honeycombs show some interesting mechanical properties which can be related to Poisson's ratios. This work trying understand how ratios affects crashworthiness of honeycombs. Based on standard beam theory, analytical model that predicting is derived, from crushing strength in terms further proposed by using one-dimensional shock model. Combining and numerical method, critical characteristics as plateau stress, densified strain, Specific Energy Absorption (SEA) has been investigated under speeds range 5 m/s 150 complied with previous study about honeycomb crashworthiness. Through observing wave trapping behavior honeycombs, typical deformation modes have identified a deformation-mode map generated considering ratio.

Crushing singularities in spacetimes with spherical, plane and hyperbolic symmetry

It is shown that the initial singularities in spatially compact spacetimes with spherical, plane or hyperbolic symmetry admitting a compact constant mean curvature hypersurface are crushing singularities when the matter content of spacetime is described by the Vlasov equation (collisionless matter) or the wave equation (massless scalar field). In the spherically symmetric case it is further sho...

Aiaa 2002-1766 Size Effects in the Compressive Crushing of Honeycombs

The effect of cell size on the out of plane compressive crushing response of circular cell polycarbonate honeycomb is presented. Over 100 experiments were conducted on specimens ranging in size from 1 to 169 cells (number of cells=N). Experiments showed that for N<19 there was a significant increase in crushing load. The maximum crushing load was observed where N=7. Finite element (FE) analysis...

Topological state transport in topological insulators under the influence of hexagonal warping and exchange coupling to in-plane magnetizations

A hexagonal warping term has been proposed recently to explain the experimentally observed 2D equal energy contours of the surface states of the topological insulator Bi2Te3. Differing from the Dirac fermion Hamiltonian, the hexagonal warping term leads to the opening up of a band gap by an in-plane magnetization. We study the transmission between two Bi2Te3 segments subjected to different in-p...

Impact resistance and energy absorption of regular and functionally graded hexagonal honeycombs with cell wall material strain hardening

This paper highlights the effects of cell wall material strain hardening and density functional gradation (FG) on in-plane constant-velocity dynamic crushing response and impact behavior of hexagonal honeycombs. Results show that cell wall material strain hardening influences the distinct deformation modes induced by crushing velocity generally observed in regular hexagonal honeycombs. This is ...
